The 955D-VP is a digital output Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT) in a low profile extruded aluminum package. This transducer uses Ametek's field proven magnetostrictive technology to give absolute position, repeatable to .006% of the programmable sensing distance. The Ametek 955 series has an auto tuning feature that allows it to sense a magnet other than the standard slide magnet and adjust its signal strength accordingly.
The 955D-VP BRIK variable pulse system, or pulse width modulated (PWM), generates a digital output over a RS-422 line. The system is available with both internal and external interrogation. The system with external interrogation looks for a recommended one microsecond input pulse, or start pulse, which is provided by the customer’s computer device. An output pulse is then generated by the BRIK LDT with a duration proportional to the position of the magnet. Using the internal interrogation option, the output signal will be generated automatically without an input pulse. For both internal and external interrogation, the frequency of the signal generation is dependent upon settings made at the factory. Recirculation from one to 127 are available through these factory settings. For internal interrogation, the update time is set for the quickest time based on the number of recirculation specified. This update time, which alters the frequency of signal generation, can be changed at the factory.

- Cable Assembly (purchased separately)
- Mounting feet (purchased separately). It is recommended to use one mounting foot at each end and one every three feet between.
